What is GDOC?

GDOC stands for Ground Duty Officers’ Course of the Indian Air Force. Through this course, you can join the Ground Duty Branch of the IAF.

Eligibility Criteria

Age 20 to 26 Years
Nationality Indian
Gender Male and Female
Height & Weight The minimum acceptable height for male candidates is 157.5 cm. For female candidates, it is 152 cm. (For Gorkhas and individuals belonging to hills of the North-Eastern region of India, Garhwali, and Kumaon, the minimum acceptable height will be 5 cm less. In case of candidates from Lakshadweep, the minimum acceptable height will be 2 cm less. Applicable to both men and women).

Myopia: -0.5 D Sph
Astigmatism: +0.5 D Cyl
Minimum 6/9 in each eye, correctable to 6/6 in each eye. Wearing of glasses will be compulsory when visual acuity is below 6/6.
Logistics Graduate Degree (minimum three-year degree course) in any discipline from a recognised university with 60% marks or equivalent, OR cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. Hypermetropia: +3.5 D Sph
Myopia: -3.50 D Sph
Astigmatism: ±2.50 D Cyl
Corrected visual acuity should be 6/6 in the better eye and 6/18 in the worse eye. Wearing of glasses will be compulsory.
Accounts B. Com. degree (minimum three-year degree course) from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. Hypermetropia: +3.5 D Sph
Myopia: -3.50 D Sph
Astigmatism: ±2.50 D Cyl
Corrected visual acuity should be 6/6 in the better eye and 6/18 in the worse eye. Wearing of glasses will be compulsory.
Education MBA / MCA or MA / M.Sc. degree in English / Physics / Mathematics / Chemistry / Statistics / International Relations / International Studies / Defence Studies / Psychology / Computer Science / IT Management / Mass Communication / Journalism / Public Relation with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in post-graduation (minimum two-year programme) and 60% marks in graduation (both recognised by UGC / Competent Accreditation Authority). Hypermetropia: +3.5 D Sph
Myopia: -3.50 D Sph
Astigmatism: ±2.50 D Cyl
Corrected visual acuity should be 6/6 in the better eye and 6/18 in the worse eye. Wearing of glasses will be compulsory.

The colour vision requirement for the Administration branch is CP-I while for Logistics, Accounts, and Education branches it is CP-III.

  1. When i applied for courses for afcat i could not apply for education branch because at that time i didinot had my MBA degree in hand.. Now can i apply for education after going for ssb?

    • No you can’t apply at ssb. Because the cut off date for educational certificates was also mentioned in the notification.

      • Cut off dates mean?
        I passed tge examination on 14/7/2016

        • There will be a date of educational qualification date mentioned in the notification by IAF. That means you must possess the educational qualification before that date.

    I am prasanna.I completed BTECH in electronics and communication engineering in 2019.While applying i did a mistake in course preferences order and watch it after submitting it .Actually i want to work with my technical branch first,but in course preference submitted in 1.administration
