Eligibility Conditions

Nationality Male Indian Citizen as per Citizenship Act 1955
Age 20 to 24 Years. Upper age limit for Candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable up to 26 years.
Educational Qualification Graduates (Minimum three-year degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university who have attained minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together and have passed Maths and Physics at 10+2 level or BE/B. Tech degree (Four-year course) from a recognized university with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together.

10+2 for NDA Entry.

Physical Standards

Height and Weight

Minimum Height 162.5 cms with correlated weight, Leg Length Min-99 cms and Maximum 120 cms. Thigh Length Max-64 cms. Sitting Height Min-81.5cms and Max 96 cms.

Vision (a) Candidates who habitually wear spectacles are not eligible.

Minimum distant vision 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other correctable to 6/6 only for Hyper metropia colour vision CP-1. Hypermetropia: +2.0 d Sph,
(c) Manifest Myopia: Nil
(d) Retinoscopic Myopia: -0.5 in any meridian permitted, Astigmatism: + 0.75 D Cyl (with +2.0 D- Max)Maddox Rod Test (i) at 6 meters – Exo-6 prism D, Eso-6 prism D, Hyper-1 prism D, Hypo-1prism (ii) at 33 cms -Exo-16 prism D, Eso-6 prism D, Hyper-1 prism D, Hypo-1 prism D. Handheld stereoscope – All of BSV Grades. Convergence – upto 10 cm. Cover test for distant and near – Lateral divergence/convergence recovery rapid and complete Radial Keratotomy (RK),Photo Refractive Keratotomy (PRK) surgery for correction of refractive errors are not permitted for any Air Force duties. Candidates having undergone cataract surgery with or without IOLimplants will also be declared unfit. Binocular Vision – Must possess good binocular vision(fusion and stereopsis with good amplitude and depth).
(e) LASIK Surgery for correction of vision is admissible in Transport and Helicopter streams of Short Service Commission (Flying Branch) if the following conditions are fulfilled at the time of Air Force Medical Examination:-
(i) LASIK Surgery should not have been carried out before the age of 20 years.
(ii) The axial length of the eye should not be more than 25.5 mm as measured by IOL master.
(iii) At least twelve months should have lapsed post uncomplicated stable LASIK. No history or evidence of any complication
(iv) The post LASIK comeal thickness as measured by a comeal pachymeter should not be less than 450 microns.
(v) Individuals with high refractive errors (>6D) prior to LASIK are to be Excluded. Candidates must not suffer from colour or night blindness.
All other medical criteria would be evaluated by the Air Force Medical Authorities whose decision on the fitness would be final.

Candidates who have failed the Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) or Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT) in an earlier attempt or a Flight Cadet suspended from flying training at Air Force Academy will not be eligible to apply.

    I have qualified in afcat written test
    And called for afsb.
    I have done Bsc with 1st div.
    As my honours papers marks is 61.5%
    But aggregate marks including subsidiary
    & Language papers is less than 60%
    Am I eligible for flying branch or others
    Please guide me
